What is new, and what are we saying goodbye to here on LinkedIn in 2025?

Most significant updates that you can use for your growth strategy.

+ More CEOs
There is a 35% increase in C-suite professionals using LinkedIn actively, including posting. The main reasons are changes at Twitter (now X), so more senior managers switch platforms, and the help of AI, as CEOs usually do not have time, and now they find it easier to use LinkedIn.

+ Videos
The company is testing new ways to help members more easily discover videos to watch on LinkedIn. With live video tutorials and interviews used by many LinkedIn influencers, the new dedicated video section has all the potential to grow.

+ Emotional Authenticity
More human stories and more authentic voices, a natural unity of professional expertise and personal authenticity. What really resonates with others is seeing the whole person, not just the professional persona. Content showing people in casual clothing, saw a 37% increase in video completion rates. Even small personal touches like jewellery contributed to a 53% lift in performance.

+ Slideshow Option for Profile Banner images
Another way to attract more interest to your LinkedIn presence is to have a new option available for LinkedIn Premium users to help you show off more of your personality, skills, and projects.

~ Hashtags
There is no more hashtags you can follow, all dedicated pages for hashtags have been removed. While hashtags can help to align your posts with certain communities, which can have some discovery benefits, overall, there is reach benefit from using hashtags.

~ Top Voice
LinkedIn has announced that it’s retiring its “Top Voice” badges for contributing to Collaborative Articles. Blaming the AI-based merit system, which selected non-experts to share their opinion. LinkedIn has now received enough negative feedback to decide that this is not a great system for recognition.

~ No Audio Events
with the declining interest in Clubhouse and similar services, LinkedIn followed the trend and removed its audio live-stream service. You can still run it as part of the video live-streaming.
