Marco, tell us about your company and your role? Where are you based?
I’m a Partner and the Head of the Italian Financial Services Regulatory practice, splitting his time between Orrick’s Milan and London offices.
How did you get into this sector? Are there any particular events or people on your career path who had an impact on your future decision?
Before joining Orrick, I served as Head of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK Financial Services Regulatory practice. Prior to PwC, I was a European Regulatory Director at asset management firm ETF Securities in London. Both experiences made an impact on my future career at Orrick.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
There are many! But primary, the constant stimulus to learn new things even outside the box to better serve your clients.
Marco, can you please describe what leadership means to you?
It means acting as an example and expressing tolerance, but also being able to take difficult decisions.
What soft-skills someone entering your industry now should focus on improving?
The main soft-skills in our industry are, firstly, ability to listen and, secondly, desire to learn new things.
How do you think, is important in your profession to have a trusted business network and continues learning?
It is really 100% important!
Can you share with us, is there anything in particular that motivates you?
Yes! Seeing my team growing and my clients happy is very motivating for me.
